A brand born from British physical education
Founded in the United Kingdom in 1906 as a schoolwear manufacturer. In 1936, "GYMPHLEX" was born, combining "GYMNASTIC," meaning physical education, and "FLEX," representing supple movement. In Britain at that time, when military service was a national duty and the government actively encouraged exercise, physical education was one of the most important subjects in schools. GYMPHLEX has been widely loved as physical education attire.
Along with the History of British Sports
During the war, we produced training wear for the British Army, and after the war, our uniforms were adopted by the British national team, Arsenal FC, and many others. We were also chosen by some of Britain's most prestigious schools, such as Eton College and Harrow School, as well as the polo team of King Charles, who was then the Crown Prince.
Tradition in everyday wear
We began sales in Japan in 1990 and celebrated our 100th anniversary in 2006. Retaining the ease of movement and durability perfected in our school gym uniforms, we now offer casual wear that anyone can enjoy in their everyday lives.
